She was able to take it to school in her backpack and was able to put it on at school all by herself. The only issue...my daughter is very thin, however, the belt that goes around the waist area is very small. After having it on for about 15 minutes she complains that is is hurting her and is too tight. It is made with velcro and isn't really "adjustable". So, if the child were larger I don't know what I would recommend they do. The bow in the back also didn't work really well but the outfit was still cute even without the bow. The headband with the butterflies is cute. I put my daugher's hair up in a bun and put chopsticks through her hair...it looked really cute and topped off the outfit.
