Since the early 80's, Fred Krueger's glove has been viewed as a thing of enchantment by those who enjoyed the Nightmare films. As a boy, I recall simply wanting to touch the glove. Ironically, it truly seemed to be made of the stuff of dreams. It had a mysterious air about it, the sounds it made, the way it made Robert Englund's hand look as he moved about with it.
Bottom line; it was fascinating.
Recently, I've taken on the task of watching these films all over again with my two oldest boys. One of them is thirteen, the other is ten. We've only completed the second film and I'm being bombarded with questions about the American Horror Icon. "Who was he when he was alive?", "How did he get all burned-up?"... and the best one, "Why did he make that glove?"
That's when I decided to purchase one. Of course, I needed something safe. So, I found this one. It's sturdy and it has safe, plastic blades on it. The fingers have adjustments on them to fit different size hands, and even the glove has a drawstring around the wrist.
I've already been informed by the ten-year-old as to what I should expect come next Halloween.
