(More customer reviews)So after searching for a pirate costume that did not look more like a streetwalker costume, I found this one. it's very cute. Unfortunately, the picture makes the skirt appear much longer than it really is. I am 5'7" and it only came slightly less than halfway down my thighs and, since I have a butt, saying it covered two inches below said butt would be generous. As my friend put it, honey the top is beautiful but you can't go in public like that! So, because I'm crafty, i sewed a new black skirt on top of the old one that was roughly 10 inches longer. Also, package states: model shown is 5'6", 160 pounds. 160=not a plus size weight for a 5'6" lady. So, be warned. Beautiful costume, and if I was shorter it would have worked much better. but it looks great on and you don't look like a fat girl in a pirate costume (like the other non-trashy costumes i found). If you have a crafty friend, then don't worry about the length and either add a ruffle to the hem or make a new skirt and attach over the top underneath the jacket tails (it took me maybe 1 1/2 hours and was quite easy) if it ends up too short.
