There is a side zipper and an elastic 'corset' in the back which has nice purple ribbon lacing for decoration. I didn't have a problem with the arms being too tight, but I have fairly small arms. I do however, have a large bust and this costume couldn't fit any better. I'm regularly a size 10 so I ordered the large and it's perfect for me. The tights are very thin, but I'm sure they will be fine for a one time use.
My only complaint:
The product description states the 'headpiece' is included and the shoes are not. I assumed the wig was the headpiece, nope. Headpiece = hair pin with gold rose and feather attached. So I had to spend an extra thirty bucks on a wig, but no big deal. Even without the wig this costume is well worth what it costs.
I went to a local costume shop and their Marie Antoinette costumes were much more expensive than this one, and they were the standard low-quality costumes you'd expect to find at the big box stores.
