(More customer reviews)Princess Beatrie of York turned many heads at the recent marriage of her cousin, Prince William, and Ms. Kate Middleton, (whom genealogists found to be his fifteenth cousin!) Her hat has variously been described as a "Cthulhu Mythos" hat, (a hat reminiscent of the novels of H.P. Lovecraft? I read that somewhere on the web), and thus a brave choice for a royal wedding, or -- my own interpretation -- a hat reminiscent of one of Santa's Reindeers. Take your choice!
Anyway, the hat worn by Princess Beatrice is, or soon will be, sold at auction on EBay. The last price I saw was $20,000 -- and it's probably still climbing. The money will go to a very good cause -- UNICEF, and so bravo and kudos to Princess Beatrice for that. However, if you cannot afford to bid on "the hat", THIS hat is certainly a fine substitute, for any occasion on which you might wnat to wear the hat worn by Princess Beatrice at the Royal Wedding. Indeed, THIS hat even LOOKS a little like the famous one!
It must be noted that Princess Beatrice DID NOT CHOOSE THE HAT SHE WORE TO THE ROYAL WEDDING HERSELF! No -- it was the choice of famous hatter who designed hats for many of the royal ladies at the wedding. Most of them were quite beauiful, I think, but, as for his choice of Princess Beatrice's hat....well, deciding you think it was brave or daring or weird is totally up to you, of course -- but now you know who to blame, (or credit). Princess Beatrice of York had NOTHING to do with choosing this particular hat!
Would Royal hat-makers like the NEW 20" FUNNY PLUSH RED KING CRAB HAT COSTUME PARTY CAP? Being individuals, I suppose their opinions would vary. But I will say that the words, "...Watch out, fascinator hats -- THIS is the newest hat trend!", are now buzzing happily around the more mischievious parts of my mind.
This, and similar hats, would make GREAT costume hats for any "play" on the Royal Wedding. Or, perhaps, a high-school version of "My Fair Lady". Halloween? A surprise party? The uses of this NEW 20" FUNNY PLUSH RED KING CRAB HAT COSTUME PARTY hat seem endless. Although yu might want to cut off the crab's legs, to make it seem more believable as a hat. But then again.....would that be as funny?
