The fabric is pretty sheer so if you're modest, wear light colored underthings. You need either a strapless or a halter bra. Or do it movie-style and get a black merriwidow for underneath, but know it might sort of show through. The "waist cincher" can be adjusted in the back by way of two 'flaps' that have velcro on them. I just trimmed them off at the sides and no one noticed.
Best thing about this dress is that the skirt is subtly longer in the front and the back, so it shows lots of legs without leaving everything hanging out.
Also you have to lace up the front and the one cuff yourself.
