(More customer reviews)You know the old saying about how we can always depend on Death and Taxes? I've searched for a Tax Collector and IRS agent costume.. seems you just have to use your imagination, a clipboard and briefcase, because I've not been able to find any for sale.
Several years ago, I bought one of these costumes (not from Amazon and mask was not included). It remains a classic, has held up beautifully and simply refuses to go out of style. Definitely buy a plastic scythe (*not* a sickle). A metal blade is better, but real scythes are usually expensive, can be quite dangerous and are a bummer to haul around after awhile. You can wear the mask or buy some white (glow in the dark is best) and black or dark grey makeup and invent your own 'hollow eye socket' effects... get one of those chintzy "official" long straight 'platinum blonde' Lady GaGa wigs and make the hair stick out at odd angles under your hood or use a stocking cap, gauze and heavy white makeup to create the look of a bald skull. White or black gloves are effective if you'd rather not apply makeup to your hands. The feet can be extraordinary depending on your personality, pocketbook and sense of the absurd, everything from logger's boots to leather stilettos to fake hooves to old blown-out sneakers wrapped with duct tape to short stilts can be used in ways that will impress onlookers. It's good if you can achieve a shuffling, rattling, scraping noise as you walk...length of chain, bits of sandpaper in strategic locations.
You will never be "at a loss for what to wear" on Halloween, once you've acquired this Death Costume. Whether you are male, female, a combination or asexual, you'll never regret this investment. It is a Wardrobe Essential, like The Little Black Dress or The Interview Suit. Trends will come and go every year, but Death is not some fly-by-night fad or celebrity who will quickly pass from the consciousness of nearly everyone on the planet. Take my advice: find the classic Death Costume in the appropriate size and length and each year, change the accessories and makeup. No one will say "Oh. It's just you being Death again" because, as we all know, Death is an individual experience. I hope you enjoy your Death Costume even half as much as I, and the people I've scared out of what remains of their wits, have.
