The astronaut costume is made out of a thick, fleece like material. It's a good quality compared to most costumes you might purchase. I loved all the detail (patches, collar, belt) that made her stand out like an actual astronaut. This was for her 1 year birthday and she fit the 6-12 month size perfectly (she currently fits 12 month size clothes perfectly). Bonus: the snap bottom was great for quick and easy diaper changes. So absolutely cute!!!
