This outfit is made of stretchy material. I could have gotten a medium and it would have been okay. Even so, it fits fine. I adore it. I am 5' 4" and it looks good on me. In the picture, it looks satin but is crushed velvet. I adore this outfit, and I bet my fiance will adore it too. ;)
